Jimmy’s story

I grew up surfing Narrabeen, in a lineup where you had to earn your place and nothing came easy. That environment shaped how I see surfing and the kind of respect I carry into it. When I moved up to Byron, things opened up—I got into longboards, single fins, and a slower, more drawn-out way of riding waves. I started shaping boards in my backyard in Mullumbimby, just figuring it out as I went. Being a panel beater helped a lot—I’ve always paid attention to detail and how things should feel in the hands and under your feet. Now I shape a bit of everything. The boards come from those classic influences, but there’s still that edge from where I started. Nothing overcomplicated—just boards that feel right in the water.
